President Bush On Friday October 13, 2006 signed a bill that affected online casinos, poker rooms, sportsbooks, bingos whose principal purpose is to tighten security measures for the United States sea ports. Attached to that bill was a federal ban on banking institutions knowingly transferring funds to businesses or people that may conduct gambling operations in United States and areas where gambling is prohibited. In an even more shocking news story for Full Tilt Poker fans, the 2nd largest poker site in the world had its eGaming license removed in the end of June. The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC), the body which licenses Full Tilt Poker, forced the online poker site to suspend all of its operations.
No new players can make a deposit or fund an account at Full Tilt Poker. Unlike the Friday Blackouts back in April 15th, the closure of Full Tilt Poker has also affected non-US players who are unable to log in, yet alone withdraw any money that was still in the poker. Read the full article here

Tokwiro Enterprises, the owner of the CEREUS Poker Network, announced that it upgraded the security protocol for Absolute Poker and UB.com to include OpenSSL encryption for client-server communications in a press release last night. The announcement comes 11 days after a serious flaw in the network’s security system was discovered and revealed by the operators of the Web site PokerTableRatings.com (PTR).
Absolute Poker and UB are the only poker rooms that operate on the CEREUS network, which is the third-largest Internet poker network that accepts U.S. players. Read the full article here
